Mother’s Day at  Regent Hong Kong  is built around the second kind. Not a single grand gesture, but a series of quiet, considered ones — shaped by art, layered with flavour, and designed to feel less like an event and more like a memory in the making.

Available from 1 May to 30 June 2026, the season brings together a limited-edition Mother’s Day cake born from artistic collaboration and a curated collection of dining experiences across the hotel’s most celebrated venues. At Regent Hong Kong, the way you celebrate says as much as the fact that you do.

A Mother’s Day Cake That Begins as a Painting

Some cakes are designed to impress. This one is designed to move.

The second edition of “Share Love, Share Cake” is a collaboration with Hong Kong artist Elaine Chiu, whose latest watercolour series, The Shadow of Butterflies, traces the quiet emotional current that passes between grandmother, mother, and daughter — love not as a declaration, but as something inherited, carried, and gently handed down. Under the craftsmanship of Sous Chef Chase Tse, that emotional landscape becomes something you can taste.

Light layers of pink guava and strawberry open with fresh fruit brightness, unfolding into jasmine mousse, sponge, guava-strawberry compote, strawberry jelly, and a sablé base. Each layer is distinct yet harmonious — floral and fruity, sweet but never cloying — the kind of balance that rewards a slow bite and a second slice. It is a Mother’s Day cake that doesn’t shout. It lingers.

The award-winning Lai Ching Heen, recipient of Two Michelin Stars and Two Black Pearl Diamonds, offers an elegant yet welcoming Cantonese dining experience. The Steak House, ranked among the world’s 101 best steakhouses, presents a timeless and memorable steakhouse feast featuring premium cuts grilled over charcoal.

Afternoon Tea and Savoie-Inspired Indulgence

At The Lobby Lounge, the Regent Hong Kong x French May Afternoon Tea offers an elegant alternative for Mother’s Day. Inspired by the interplay of French craftsmanship and Hong Kong culture, the experience unfolds at a graceful pace, pairing Victoria Harbour views with sweet and savoury creations that feel polished, expressive, and made to be savoured slowly.

Over at Qura Bar, Head Chef Raymond Yip presents A Taste of Savoie, a four-course menu inspired by French GourMay 2026. From white asparagus with Reblochon espuma to pan-seared perch with lemon beurre blanc, the menu carries a sense of warmth and finesse that feels especially apt for an occasion built around gratitude. Together, these experiences extend Mother’s Day into a full day of thoughtful indulgence, where flavour becomes part of the story.

Elaine Chiu (趙綺婷) (b. 1996, Hong Kong) explores community, identity, and collective memory through painting, on-site sketching, and performative actions. With a background in Art History and Sociology from the University of Hong Kong, she was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia (2023) and selected for the 14th National Art Exhibition of China (2024). Her works are held in the permanent collections of the University Museum and Art Gallery, HKU; Pucheng Art Museum / Fan Di’an Museum; K11 Art Foundation; Société Générale; and Cathay Pacific. Her latest series, The Shadow of Butterflies, marks a pivotal shift toward the intimate emotional landscapes of family and womanhood — a daughter’s meditation on the love she inherited.
