19 August 2026 (Hong Kong SAR) – From the floating kitchens of Aberdeen to the sweeping harbourfront of Regent Hong Kong, Lau Kee’s boat-noodle heritage finds a new horizon at Harbourside.
In collaboration with Lau Kee Boat Noodles, a beloved name in Hong Kong’s boat-noodle tradition since 1981, Harbourside presents a limited-time culinary encounter that honours the city’s maritime heritage while offering a refined interpretation exclusive to Regent Hong Kong.
Rooted in local culture and presented through an international culinary lens, the collaboration begins with respect for the original recipe before extending its flavours into a more contemporary expression.
A limited-time collaboration celebrating the flavours and stories of old Aberdeen
Born from the fishing communities of old Aberdeen, boat noodles were once prepared aboard sampans for fishermen seeking a satisfying meal beyond the day’s catch. Made with a broth of pan-seared dried flounder, silky lai fun noodles, roasted meats, and a variety of toppings, they gradually became one of the most representative flavours of Hong Kong’s boat-dwelling community culture.
At Harbourside, guests may rediscover this comforting classic through the Classic Roasted BBQ Boat Noodles. Roasted duck, char siu, fish balls, choy sum, and spring onion are served with lai fun noodles in Lau Kee’s savoury flathead flounder broth, finished with homemade white pepper for an aromatic lift. It is a faithful tribute to a flavour that has long belonged to the harbour.
Created exclusively for Regent Hong Kong’s dinner buffet, the Lobster Boat Noodles offer a more indulgent interpretation of this beloved classic. Local spiny lobster, prawns and fish balls are paired with lai fun noodles in a richly flavoured prawn broth, bringing the essence of the sea back to the bowl in a luxurious, contemporary form.
A Sweet Finish and a Spirited Tribute to the Harbour
To accompany the experience, guests may enjoy Coconut Red Bean Ice, a nostalgic Hong Kong refreshment made with sweetened red beans, coconut milk, and evaporated milk. For an evening interpretation, the Sampan cocktail layers Bulleit 95 Rye Whiskey with balsamic wild berries, ginger, citrus, soda water, pickled onion, and raspberry. Inspired by Hong Kong’s traditional flat-bottomed wooden sampans, it captures the contrasts of the harbour itself: bold yet nuanced, rugged yet quietly elegant.
Against the cinematic panorama of Victoria Harbour, this collaboration brings a cherished local tradition into a new setting, where the flavours of Aberdeen are remembered, respected, and gently reimagined.
