On 18 January 2026, the restaurant will welcome Chateau Montelena — the eighth-oldest winery in Napa Valley and a name forever etched into modern wine history — for a one-night-only contemporary Cantonese wine pairing experience.

Set in Calistoga at the northern edge of Napa Valley, Chateau Montelena is renowned for its diverse soils and microclimates, which lend remarkable depth and purity to its wines. In 1976, the estate’s 1973 Chardonnay famously triumphed over celebrated Burgundies at the Judgment of Paris blind tasting, reshaping global perceptions of New World wines. Fifty years on, the winery remains a benchmark of craftsmanship and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
This commemorative wine dinner marks Chateau Montelena’s first-ever visit to Hong Kong and serves as the official anniversary celebration of its Asia voyage. For the occasion, Executive Chef Lau Yiu Fai and Head Chef Cheng Man Sang have curated a refined menu that reflects Hong Kong’s culinary identity while showcasing the modern Cantonese artistry that defines Lai Ching Heen.
Guests will enjoy a thoughtfully designed pairing of expressive vintages — including rare magnums — alongside signature dishes such as Golden Stuffed Crabmeat with Onion and Fresh Milk in Shell, Salted Grilled Kagoshima Wagyu with French Beans, and the Lai Ching Heen Combination.
