Revel in panoramic views of iconic Victoria Harbour as you join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion as they set out on an adventure to Emerald City to find the Wizard of Oz and triumph over the Wicked Witch. The afternoon tea set features a symphony of sweet and savoury delights, each meticulously crafted to represent the beloved characters and moments from the adored tale. Setting the scene for your adventure, the subtle aroma of jasmine - fills the air in The Lobby Lounge, transporting you to the mystical forest leading to the Land of Oz. While indulging in this culinary journey, let the jewel-inspired pastries, masterfully created by Executive Pastry Chef Andy Yeung and his talented team, ignite your imagination:
- The Lemon confection, a tribute to young Dorothy and the iconic blue gingham dress she wore on her journey down the Yellow Brick Road. Lemon confit crafted with locally sourced lemons and fresh mint is wrapped in ivory chocolate whipped ganache and topped with a layer of yuzu cream.
- The Honey sponge cake made with awarding-winning, locally produced honey and citrus coulis pays homage to the Cowardly Lion.
- The Cacao creation delights with its diverse textures that include cacao sponge, Valrhona 66% Caraïbe dark chocolate and caramelised cacao nibs. A little red heart candy on top represents the Tin Man’s determined search for a heart.
Complementing the artisanal pastries are a selection of finger sandwiches crafted by The Lobby Lounge Head Chef Rajiv Chowdhoory. These include Blue Crab and Pomelo, Egg and Gueldenstaedtii Caviar, Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese, as well as Chicken Ballotine and Truffle Mayonnaise.
Afternoon Tea in the Land of Oz is further elevated with freshly baked scones and madeleines served with clotted cream and homemade oolong peach jam and apricot jam. Thirst quenching add-ons to enhance the imaginary journey include the Yellow Brick Road cocktail, a refreshing blend of tequila, chamomile tea, passion fruit syrup and lemon juice and the Tornado mocktail, a harmonious mix of vanilla rooibos tea, strawberry syrup and lemon juice.
Available from 12 August to 13 October, Afternoon Tea in the Land of Oz is priced at HK$888 for two people. Hong Kong Ballet ticketholders can present their The Wizard of Oz tickets to enjoy a 10% discount on the Afternoon Tea Set, supporting Hong Kong Ballet and the dancers in realising their dreams.
